Two 13-Year-Olds Arrested In Connection With Press Box Fire
_
ROGERS, Ark. -- Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with a
pair of arsons, including one at a sporting field press box at Jones Elementary
School.
Both teens have been charged with two felony counts of arson, one count of attempted arson and 10 counts of criminal mischief, police said. The investigation is ongoing and police said additional charges could be filed.
Police arrested the teens on Thursday. The teens were identified by a patrol officer after they were captured on Rogers Public School System surveillance video on the day of the press box fire.
One of the fires was behind Jones Elementary School, at 2926 South First St., and the other was at a home at 306 E. Summerwood Court.
The teens are also accused of attempting to set a vehicle on fire in the 3000 block of South B Street. The criminal mischief charges stem from graffiti spray painted on businesses, mailboxes, homes and vehicles, police said. Police estimate the damage at more than $15,000.
