FARMINGTON, Ark. -- A Farmington man faces several charges, including cruelty to a dog, after he was found naked in a house and covered with blood.
The Washington County Prosecutor's Office said Farmington police arrested Christopher Webb, 43, Thursday morning, and he has been charged with aggravated assault on a family member, domestic battery, interfering with emergency communication, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest and aggravated cruelty to a dog.
Farmington Police Chief Brian Hubbard said Webb is the Farmington High School principal. Hubbard was unable to comment about the status of Webb's employment.
"I am currently out of the area, and I will not return until this weekend," said Superintendent Bryan Law. "I have been informed of the allegations that have been brought against one of our staff members. At this point, I cannot comment as I have not had an opportunity to look into these concerns. We will begin an investigation immediately."
Police said in their preliminary arrest report that they went to a home on Hydrangea Drive after receiving a 911 call. When officers arrived, they heard screaming from inside the house, police said.
"I entered the residence when I observed blood on the floor and up the stairs and on the walls," the officer wrote in the report. "Webb was located nude with blood on himself ...."
Officers said they saw Webb choking a woman and a dead dog, whose throat had been cut, was in the bathtub.
Bond has been set at $5,000 for Webb, who is being held in a hospital, prosecutors said.
